Ivan Đikić
Ivan Đikić (born 28 May 1966) is a Croatian scientist dealing with biomedicine and health in the field of the basic medical sciences. He is prominent for his achievements made in cancer research. ==Education and career== Đikić attended Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb between 1986 and 1991 becoming doctor of medicine. Between 1991 and 1997 he studied at the New York University School of Medicine earning his doctorate there. During the time spent in the United States, Đikić worked at the Institute for Health Care of Mother and Child between 1991 and 1992. In 1992 he was named assistant professor at the NYU School of Medicine working there for the next five years, until 1997. After academic career Đikić was employed at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research where he worked in a lab as part of the research group for molecular signaling. As of 2002 Đikić works as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Split in Croatia, and as of 2003, at the Faculty of Medicine at the Goethe University Frankfurt. Đikić is member of number of organizations including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, New York Academy of Sciences, World Association of Croatian Physicians, American Association for Cancer Research, European Molecular Biology Organization, American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, International Union Against Cancer and the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
